Course Concept

Tutorials are effective for students who prefer one-on-one learning on a regular basis for the school curriculum. Our teachers work collaboratively with students to create a customized plan according to their study goals. Students can take an All-Year or Short-Term programme of intensive teaching offered by our experienced faculty in a customized, immersive, engaging and focussed tutorial hours for the international curriculums.

Our tutorials aim to give students support for consistent top performance in school and final exams, constant review and consolidation of the learnt material through periodic homework ‘Tutorial’, and exam style questions that help students to gain top results in school. Our instructors prepare premium resources and provide constructive feedback to highlight and correct recurring errors.

Tutorials offered for Grade 8 to 10 students in Math and English are as following:

Our qualified tutors design an appropriate course structure after understanding the students mathematical knowledge and level. The tutorials would help to develop the skills and confidence needed to meet the demands of the IGCSE curriculum.

Our qualified tutors design an appropriate course structure after understanding the students mathematical knowledge and level. The tutorials would help to develop the skills and confidence needed to meet the demands of the MYP curriculum.

Math Specific tutorials for Grade 8 to 10:

Students would have different mathematical experiences, prior to starting IBDP mathematics owing to various curriculums or school teaching methods. Tutorials for IBDP Math Prior Learning help students in grade 9 & 10 by facilitating a smooth transition into the IB style of teaching and learning. Our qualified tutors design an appropriate course structure after understanding the students mathematical knowledge and level. The tutorials would help students in building a strong foundation to be better prepared for their IBDP mathematical journey.

We offer tutorials for American Common Core Math standards covering the topic areas of Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry and Pre-Calculus. These standards encourage students to solve real-world problems and focus on developing the critical-thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills students will need to be successful. Pre-Algebra and Algebra 1 is ideal for students in grade 7 & 8, Algebra 2 is suited for grade 9 & 10, Geometry can be ideal for students in grade 7 to 10 and Pre-Calculus is for grade 9 & 10 students.

Through this course, students would develop the skills and confidence needed to meet the rigorous demands of IGCSE / MYP Math course with a headstart for success. Students will appreciate the subject on a deeper level than they had previously experienced in the earlier curriculum. This course aims to support learners in building competency, confidence and fluency in their use of techniques and mathematical understanding. Students will develop their reasoning, problem-solving and analytical skills in a variety of contexts.

It is designed to stretch the most able candidates and provides a smooth transition to IGCSE or MYP in Grade 8 or 9.

Personalised Tutorials are also available through the year for advanced Math competitions like: American Math Competitions (AMC 8, 10, 12), Centre for Education in Mathematics & Computing (CEMC) and Asian Math Olympiads (HKIMO, SASMO, SEAMO, TIMO).

For students in grade 9 & 10 who require more intense preparation during the summer we offer preparation for International Math Olympiads.

Course Details

CourseLeap will work collaboratively with the student to create a customized plan according to their study goals. This depends on whether they want to work on specific areas of the subject or want an in-depth study of the more challenging areas.

Tutorial Hours can be either Short Term with predetermined hours and frequency of sessions or All-Year round on a weekly basis.

Short – Term

Short-term tutorial hours or Revision courses are available year round including weekends and holidays. These can be arranged during peak performance times such as preparing for exams, before predicted grades, for conditional offers requiring top grades in universities or to cover syllabus missed in school. Frequency of the sessions can be decided based on students ability and need analysis.

All-Year Program

An All Year Program of tutorial hours is recommended following our Pre-IB (Year 11) and Mid- IB (Year 12) summer courses for consistent and excellent performance.

For students in a weekly program we can plan a year round program in groups or personalized tutorial hours. Each session will be 1.5 hours twice a week. Depending on the requirements of the student, the number of hours a week can be decided on a case to case basis spanning anywhere between 80 – 100 hours or beyond

“Course leap has helped me develop an affinity for math that I never knew I had. The personalized tutorials, and unique learning has helped me develop mathematical thinking that I believe will help me even at college. Even though I studied math AA SL, the rigor of math and the amount of practice we did was exceptional. I believe Course leap was the reason I got straight 7s throughout the 2 years of IB and could finally get into the college of my dreams.”

Netree Shah

Jamnabai Narsee School, Mumbai, 2021, will be studying at USC Marshall School of Business, USA

The Summer before IBDP started, the prospect of studying Math HL in the IB scared me. Even though the initial weeks of school, I often felt anxious and confused. I wasn’t sure if I liked Math and I wasn’t sure if I was good enough at it. However, it was in spending time with Mrs. Dhingra through her personalised tutorial hours that my thought process changed completely. The clarity she explained concepts with, the constant work, the diverse range of questions and the consistent encouragement changed not only how confident I was but the way I viewed math itself. Mrs. Dhingra made Math HL feel like a breeze and moreover made me fall in love with math. So much so that today I am a Politics and Math major at Pomona College. CourseLeap has been a huge part of my math journey and I couldn’t be more grateful for them.

Drumee Shah

Former IB HL Math student, Jamnabai Narsee School, Mumbai, 2018, scoring the top grade (7) in the first semester, currently majoring in Math and International Relations at Pomona College, USA.

I have been studying math at courseleap since 8 months now. I started off with a mid-summer IB course in Year 12, this helped me to clear my concepts and make my basics stronger, which would help me to do well in Year 12. In these past months have I not only learnt a lot about mathematics but at the same time I have learnt different problem learning skills, reflecting strategies on how to think back and check if the answer is correct. It has also taught me how to time manage myself. All in all it’s been a great learning experience. I am currently working to achieve the top grade.

Hrit Parek

Edubridge International School, Mumbai, 2018, finished with the top Math grade in her school.

The sessions with Ms Dhingra were essential for my successful attempt at math HL in the IB programme. The comprehensive, in detailed classes allowed me to comprehend each topic in its entirety and also allowed me to appreciate the practical application of each concept. Moreover, the abundant resources at Ms Dhingra’s disposal encouraged me to regularly practice complex problems and hence be in the best possible place to tackle the math HL paper. The personal attention received during every class is something very rare and is extremely important for fruitful learning. Hence, I believe Ms Dhingra’s classes have been very beneficial for me and I feel that she has helped fuel my passion for math even further.

Aman Gupta

Dhirubhai Ambani International School, Mumbai, 2017, Scored perfect score of 45 points, currently studying at Cornell University.

Mrs Dhingra taught my son, Vikram and daughter Madhavi during the summer of 2017. Vikram is a Higher Level IB Math student of Year 12 at Institut International de Lancy, Geneva and Vikram did Mid- IB Summer Course for IB Higher Level Math. Madhavi completed her IB and is now a student of medicine at University of Geneva and she did Further Math Summer Course of Statistics with Mrs Dhingra in the summer of 2017.

Her tutelage helped my children at many levels. It built their fundamental understanding of math, taught them to think and apply themselves and overall increased their confidence in the subject dramatically.  In a very short time both my children learnt a range of things to help improve their performance drastically. I would highly recommend Mrs. Dhingras’ courses for any student looking to excel in IB math.
