MYP Decoded: Skills, Strategy & Academic Readiness for DP & Beyond

For Students Entering Grades 9–10

DATE: 30th Sept 2026, Wednesday
TIME: – 05.00 pm to 06.30 pm IST
Location: Online

MYP is more than a pathway to the DP. It is a foundation for how students learn, think and succeed.

The MYP is often viewed simply as a stepping stone to the IB Diploma Programme. But its role is much broader. Through conceptual understanding, subject knowledge, skills, inquiry and interdisciplinary learning, the MYP builds foundations that can prepare students for the DP and a range of academic pathways beyond Grade 10.

This session is designed for MYP students and their parents who want to approach the programme more strategically, maximise MYP achievement and develop the academic habits and skills needed for what comes next.

Through practical insights and discussion, we will explore how subject learning, the Personal Project and MYP assessment come together within the wider MYP framework. We will also look at how students can strengthen content knowledge and transferable skills, understand MYP command terms and assessment expectations, and approach their Grade 10 assessments with greater confidence.

    Why Attend?

The goal is not simply to prepare students for the programme that comes next.

It is to help them make the most of the programme they are in now.

A stronger understanding of MYP can help students approach assessments more effectively, build stronger academic foundations and maximise their Grade 10 performance. At the same time, the skills developed through this process can give students greater confidence when they move into the next stage of their academic journey.

Whether a student is considering the IBDP, IGCSE or another academic pathway, understanding how to learn, apply knowledge and approach assessment effectively is a valuable advantage.
