Mid-IB Courses: IBDP Tutoring

Subject Reinforcement |IB Research Support | Workload Management

Course Overview

The first semester of IBDP Grade 12 is typically very demanding, leaving little time for thoughtful preparation. This can lead to rushed research proposals and challenges during the later stages of research and writing. It is especially important for students to begin Grade 12 well-prepared, as their performance during this semester forms the basis of predicted grades used in university applications.

Mid-IB courses are offered in the Summer after Grade 11, as a headstart for Grade 12. Mid-IB courses are also offered any time after the first semester of Grade 11, based on student needs.

These courses provide personalised guidance in developing effective research proposals for students’ internally-assessed projects, representing 20% to 30% of their final grade. This includes IB courses for IB Math tutoring and Math IAs as well as all other IB subjects such as the Sciences, Individuals and Societies, and Languages, TOK Essays and TOK Exhibitions. Our IB tutoring helps students to maximise their chances of achieving top grades in their IB exams and assessments.

We remain committed to navigating technological advancements and the challenges of AI in our IB courses while advising students to write authentic and creative research papers.

I joined the Mid-IB course to help maintain my lead and also practice math during the break. We covered so much in 8 days, integration, permutations and combinations and probability and statistics, and guidance for math exploration topics, that I was surprised. The syllabus we had covered in this course amounted to at least 2 months in school. This wasn’t a course where we just brushed over topics but one in which we delved into problems and solved them in different ways. There was not one homework problem that wasn’t discussed thoroughly and not one class where we didn’t learn anything.
