Bridging Programmes for students entering MYP, IGCSE and IBDP

CourseLeap Education is a dynamic organisation empowering students and institutions to achieve academic excellence through strong principles and practices. We work within various international curricula like Cambridge and the International Baccalaureate (IB), addressing skill gaps and enhancing learning through tailored enrichment, advancement, and elevation programs. From Grade 6 to 12, we focus on core disciplines, including Math, Sciences, Languages, and Academic Research and Writing skills, ensuring students’ success in top international universities.

Designed with the purpose of facilitating a seamless transition from one educational phase to the next, the courses offered aim to bridge the gap between students’ current grade and their forthcoming educational endeavours. Our Bridge Programme ensures a seamless adjustment to international curricula, acquainting students with a solid foundation, curriculum requirements, and academic readiness.

These courses provide a solid foundation, preparing students from diverse curricula, for the concepts and skills encountered in the IB Middle Years Programme, IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) and IB Diploma (International Baccalaureate Diploma) curricula. Continuous assessment, feedback, and homework are integral components of the program, nurturing student growth and progress in the rigorous international curricula.

CLC and Heritage International Xperiential School

As part of the CourseLeap Consult programme with Heritage International Xperiential School (HIXS) we were happy to conceptualise and conduct a three-week Bridge Programme of 50 hours for Grade 6/7 and 8/9 students and grade 10 students moving to the grade 11 held from April 26 to May 21, 2021, through virtual classes.

Math & Science Bridge Programmes

Art of Problem Solving

The Art of Problem Solving (AOP) course inspires students by exposing them to proofs, famous theorems, and problem-solving approaches. It aims to broaden their knowledge, enhance their analytical skills, and encourage persistence. The course teaches various types of reasoning, adaptation strategies, and the application of technology in mathematics. It also fosters an appreciation for the historical progression of mathematics, promotes exploration and investigation, and lays a strong foundation for international math competitions, providing an edge in school studies.

Data Analytics and Math Application using Microsoft Excel

This course empowers students to unlock the power of data using Excel’s data analysis and visualisation tools. It fosters active student engagement through visual and hands-on exercises, transforming them from passive spectators to active participants. The teaching modules provide practical examples for applying techniques to real-world data problems, covering foundational concepts, basic statistical calculations, and visualising data using histograms, graphs, and charts. The course objectives include mastering Excel basics, understanding trends through different chart types, introducing data analysis concepts like mean, median, mode, quartiles, and outliers, working with percentiles and frequency curves, exploring correlation, regression analysis, curve fitting, and applying these skills to real-life data and case studies.

Information Literacy, Research & Critical Thinking

This course offers students an immersive experience in academic research and writing, aiming to familiarise them with the opportunities and risks associated with the vast resources of the digital age. It aims to enhance intellectual confidence and independent thinking while promoting critical engagement with diverse perspectives. The lessons follow a scaffolded approach, progressively building from foundational knowledge to deep understanding through enjoyable and interactive tasks. Students will receive continuous support and guidance, culminating in tangible outcomes: a well-informed, thoughtful presentation and a well-written essay that reflects the learner’s passion and meticulousness in their chosen subject.

IB Diploma Bridge Programme

Pre-IB Math

CourseLeap’s Pre-IB Math courses provide students with a strong head start in their IB Math journey by building essential skills and robust mathematical foundations. The courses follow IB-compliant practices, covering prior learning to first term syllabus, teaching styles, GDC usage, IB exam, and IA techniques for the math exploration, leading to higher chances of achieving top results in school. Tailored for both MAA and MAI students, we cater to their unique learning needs in preparation for the IB Math program.

Pre-IB Languages, Individuals and Societies and Science

These courses prepare students for the challenging International Baccalaureate Diploma program, fostering critical thinking, independent learning, and interdisciplinary connections. Students will develop study habits, note-taking, time management, and research skills in each subject while valuing collaboration, global perspective, and scientific study. Our subject-specific courses cater to IB and non-IB board students, bridging the gap between teaching methods for a seamless transition into IBDP success and beyond.

Pre-IB Introduction to the IB Core

These courses focus on the essential components of the International Baccalaureate (IB) program: Theory of Knowledge (TOK), Extended Essay (EE), and Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS). Through engaging instruction and clear objectives, students learn independent research, interdisciplinary thinking, critical analysis, and reflection skills required for these elements. It provides a head start for students, equipping them to become well-rounded, knowledgeable, and reflective individuals as they embark on their IB journey.
