Course Concept
This is a one day workshop for students who are currently in Year 12 of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program and have to complete their final TOK ESSAY worth 67% of their grade.
Theory of Knowledge is a compulsory subject within the IB that is unmatched by other elements of the diploma programme. It has its own set of rules, procedures, and expectations. Being so different from any “normal” subject, students often struggle to master it. The new challenge this year is that this is the Essay based on the New curriculum and MAY 2022 will be the first assessment year for this version of the TOK essay
The Mid-IB TOK Refresher Course was developed keeping all of these factors in mind. The workshop with its systematic process directly teaches students how to approach their TOK essay.
Sessions include “unpacking” and exploring the titles, recommendations on the best possible AOKs to use, suggestions for examples and a deep dive into the assessment criteria. In addition students will gain techniques and insights into the expectations of examiners, giving them the confidence to approach their essay in the best possible way.
* We at CourseLeap endeavor to be ethical in our practices and support students’ intellectual initiatives to uphold the principles of academic honesty. While we provide guidance, we will not write your draft. We will also refrain from predicting a grade.
The following schedule of interaction is prescribed to strengthen the process of writing the essay and support the authenticity of a student’s work.

FAQs
TOK essay/ presentation is the culmination of the TOK course that requires a wholesome understanding and multiple levels of skills. The process of developing early, half-formed ideas and opinions into a coherent, convincing exploration of any chosen issue places exceptional demands on any student’s verbal and written language skills. A heightened capacity for clear, objective and convincing arguments are vital skills for success in the TOK. This course thus focuses on developing these skills to enable students to feel more confident as they approach their final essay. Working with an IB examiner will give them insight into the way that they will be graded and show them how to maximise their potential in the essay.
The dates are not amenable, however, we offer personalized guidance sessions on request. The workshop is being offered at a strategic time so as to account for most school deadlines.
TOK and the Extended Essay along with all the internal assessments are vitally important as they enhance a student’s ability to display critical thinking, by making reasoned arguments linked to subject specific content. TOK works to help students boost their final grade and the skills are highly regarded in university applications and throughout university education.
